Every neighborhood in our local area has a tale behind it, as do the homes making up its borders – and telling the story of that history is what drives local Realtor Elizabeth Villarreal as she continues her quest to find everyone that perfect home.
“I felt I had the tools for real estate with 14 years of legal support as my background to understand the contracts and be able to educate buyers and sellers throughout the process,” she said of her initial foray into real estate. “I love houses, I love people – and I just jumped off on faith, went to real estate school, and hit the ground running as a full time Realtor.”
Today, Villarreal is a full-service Realtor with RE/MAX Metro, who has experience assisting buyers of all ages and backgrounds, successfully listing and selling homes from century-old properties to contemporary multi-level townhomes throughout Houston and also working with clients through the maze of new construction. Her properties and listings are primarily in the Leader neighborhoods, but stretch around Houston out to Livingston, Woodlands, Katy, and more.
From her experiences, Villarreal knows Houston well and believes she can show anyone the perfect neighborhood to match their commute and lifestyle. Whether buyers are interested in a large yard with gorgeous trees, or less yard maintenance to handle with more space to entertain, she believes there is a perfect property in the greater Houston area for all of them. From assisting transplants with school districts and commutes to educating them about the history of neighborhoods, she loves introducing newcomers to any pocket of Houston and relaying the story of how it’s come to be.
“We have such a great community here and it’s grown so much; we have amazing schools and something for everyone to enjoy, so bringing someone new into the community is exciting. I’m able to share the history and growth of the various Heights neighborhoods, Garden Oaks, Oak Forest and surrounding neighborhoods, because of my family’s own long history in the area and my years in real estate,” she said. “Our ‘neighborhood’ is such a small world and I see everything and everyone as interconnected.”
Whether it be the Heights – where each individual neighborhood may have its own deed restrictions, history or building requirements and needs – or Garden Oaks/Oak Forest and anywhere in between, she believes each area and home has its own story to tell. It’s one Villarreal lives to tell with each new listing or closing, and the neighborhoods are why she does not see herself leaving the field anytime soon. It’s just a perfect fit.
“You meet new clients, communicate with them every day, and I just fall in love with them. Then, when the transaction is over, I really miss them!” she said. “[This job] is so much fun. I’m so thankful I took the plunge into real estate 20 years ago.”
Villarreal is experienced in properly pricing property, marketing listings, and finding that perfect home for both first-time homebuyers or relocating families, priding herself on integrity, accountability, research skills, and her customer service. Throughout the process, she is constantly going above and beyond for her clients.
“I love the hunt, I love to learn what they need, and I love going out there to help them find their perfect forever home. It’s a joy to help people find their home,” she said. “The buying and selling process can be emotional and difficult at times – it’s my job to make it as smooth as possible, guide them through the process and transaction, and handle some of those things so they’re not as stressed.”
